eTail East Overview

eTail East 2020 will be taking over the Boston area from August 10-13. The interactive conference is dedicated to providing the latest tips, tricks, tools and resources to eCommerce and multi-channel retail innovators. In order to provide attendees with the best and most relevant information, the team at eTail spends months researching and developing the trade show agenda. This year, Boston will be booming with lots of new insight. Approximately 2,000 attendees and 1,100 retailers will come together to talk about marketing tactics, customer interaction, growing a business, new opportunities, best practices and more.

Best Hotels Near eTail East

eTail East 2020 is being hosted at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. However, rooms at the trade show venue typically sell out very quickly. If you are looking for other accommodations that are located near the conference or you simply need a room at a different price point, here are a few suggestions on other hotels in the downtown Boston area.

Hilton Boston Back Bay (56 ft) – This hotel is just a minute walk to the Sheraton Boston Hotel, making your daily commute a breeze.

The Inn at St. Botolph (0.2 mi) – Enjoy a more individualized experience by staying in one of these boutique apartments.

Copley House (0.3 mi) – The furnished apartments at the Copley House allow you to get the true experience of living in Boston by staying in a traditional brick row house

The Colonnade Hotel Back Bay (0.4 mi) – This luxury hotel has excellent reviews and ratings, but it also comes with a steeper price.

Oasis Guest House (0.5 mi) – If you are willing to forego the traditional hotel accommodations, the Oasis Guest House is an affordable bed and breakfast option.

Boston Park Plaza (0.9 mi) – If going a little further out isn’t an issue, you are able to get a lower hotel rate at the Boston Park Plaza than other hotels closer to the conference.

Top of the Hub – It doesn’t get any more unique than hosting an event 52 floors above the city of Boston. You can host a sit-down dinner or cocktail party at this popular restaurant attraction. You can chat with your guests about the eCommerce industry while also taking in all of the sights of the city.

The Capital Grille – Located just a half mile from the eTail East conference, The Capital Grille is a classic choice to host your business event. You can treat your guests to a fabulous evening full of wine, steak and eCommerce conversation.

Typical Weather During eTail East

The month of August tends to be pretty warm in Boston, MA. The average highs are typically in the low 80s, while the average lows are most often in the mid-60s. Wear sunscreen if you plan to do a lot of sightseeing by foot, and you may even want to throw a light sweater or jacket in your bag for the evening. It also rains an average of 10 days during August in Boston, so pack your umbrella just in case.

Transportation Options at eTail East

The traffic in Boston can be pretty brutal. If you are going to have a car, you may want to keep it parked during your stay in the city. To get around, you can easily take advantage of the first-class public transportation system in Boston. The “T” provides subway, bus, trolley car, and boat service to pretty much anywhere you need or want to go. All you have to do is purchase a CharlieCard or CharlieTicket, which are available at subway stations, convenience stores, and vending machines. The basic fare is only $2.65.

Taxis are also available throughout the city. As a reference, a typical fare from Logan International Airport to most hotels falls within the $25-35 range, one way. If you really want to feel like a true Bostonian, try out the Hubway. The Hubway is a bike sharing system, with over 1,000 bikes available across 100 different stations. Of course, this is also known as America’s Walking City, so you have the luxury of being able to easily walk to many sights and attractions in Boston.

Must-Do, Must-See and Best Attractions Near eTail East

If you don’t come to Boston on a regular basis, now is your chance to really enjoy all that the city has to offer. Here are a few of the sights and attractions that you must check out while you are in the area. Who says you can’t mix business and pleasure at the same time?!

Boston Duck Tours – This unique experience allows you to see some of Boston’s most famous landmarks by both land and water. All along the way, you will learn interesting facts and tid bits about the area. There are two different tours available, each lasting around 80 minutes. Just a few of the spots you can see include the Prudential Tower, Bunker Hill, the Holocaust Memorial, Quincy Market and more.

Fenway Park – Home of the Boston Red Sox baseball team, Fenway Park is a sight to see for any sports fan. In fact, the stadium hasn’t changed much since it was opened on April 20, 1912. You may even be lucky enough to catch a home game while you are in town.

Museum of Fine Arts – This Boston museum has one of the most comprehensive art collections in the world. The Museum of Fine Arts is home to nearly 500,000 different works of art, with everything from contemporary art to ancient jewelry collections.

Skywalk Observatory – Want to see the best view of Boston? The Prudential Center Skywalk Observatory allows you to take in a 360-degree panoramic view of the area. In fact, they say that visitors can see up to 100 miles away on a clear day.

The Shops at Prudential Center – This is the place to be if you want to do a little (or a lot) of shopping during your stay in Boston. With everything from Saks Fifth Avenue to Gucci, this shopping center has everything you could possibly need. Plus, if you work up an appetite while shopping, there are also plenty of restaurants dining options to select from.
